Pearson’s Global Digital Channels and Experience team is looking for aUser Experience (UX) Researcherwho will be charged with uncovering unarticulated user needs and connecting those to business goals for our flagship global ecommerce store. You will use your strong research, problem-solving and interaction design skills to improve the usability, usefulness, and desirability of Pearson.com. You will plan and execute research that will inspire and influence our product and feature improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct user centered research (ethnographies, usability testing, etc.) around users’ needs and behaviors in order to help inform product initiative.

  • Observe and analyze user behavior and present actionable insights to stakeholders.

  • Execute qualitative research projects from start to finish , including developing a research plan, recruiting, moderating, analyzing results, and presenting findings.

  • Work closely with designers, product managers, market researchers and developers to i dentify research topics and uncover opportunities to further improve our understanding of both current and prospective users.

Qualifications

Must Have Attributes :

  • Broad set of user-centered research methods:contextual inquiry and ethnographic field studies, one-on-one interviews, focus groups, usability testing, concept testing, competitive assessment, diary studies, etc.

  • Confidence with quantitative research methods, comfortable with metrics, and are able to synthesize quantitative data with qualitative user research.

  • Meticulous sense of detailand the ability to seek out simple solutions to complex challenges.

  • Experience using UX toolssuch as usertesting.com, UserZoom, SurveyMonkey, GetFeedback, etc.

Proven ability to present research findings and insightsin a concise and logical manner to various audiences to gain alignment

  • Ideas driven- You have the capacity to be open to new ideas and comfortable exploring areas where there are no right answers.
